Catastrophic Bushfires, particularly in Victoria
Im sure everyone would have seen the news about the tragic and devastating bushfires in Victoria, Australia.
It took hundreds of lives, and rendered thousands of people homeless. The saddest part is that many of the fires were started intentionally by arsonists!
I took advantage of my work location (for once there is an advantage to working in such a big organisation), and organised a clothing appeal. Within less than a week we have collected more than 12 palletts worth of clothing items. The first couple of days clothes trickled in slowly, and I was still sorting them. This was when I noticed that many people were bringing in new clothing, possibly buying some items to donate.
However, because all the people involved at the other end are so busy, Im still waiting for an exact address where the items can be sent to!
